Ashford U16 Boys First Outing
Ashford Tanners new U16 team had a run out against players from Leyton in East
London on Friday evening (22nd). Coached by Mark Goodwin, the team showed good potential, scoring some nice goals and their keeper Gareth Jenner making some exceptional saves. The
boys are looking forward to playing other teams at Crystal Palace in July and entering
junior competitions next season.

Champions League Player Looks Forward to Playing in London
István Pásztor, player of MKB Veszprém since 1993, the year of the first edition of the Champions League, but never played in England before:
- Great Britain is my favourite foreign country and I especially love London. Feeling so much attachment to this country, it always made me sad that handball is not played in England.
Now, it's a great joy for me to play in London and an honour that we are selected to promote handball in the UK. It's a pleasure to be among the first top teams who go there.

Handball is back in Brentwood (courtesy of Great Dane)
The annual Brentwood Festival of Sport will be held at the Brentwood Centre on Sunday, June 24th .
The day long festival is major promotion of healthy living and to encourage all the family to improve fitness levels. Visitors will have an opportunity to see and try more than a dozen sports, including handball. Handball has a three hour session in a section of the main hall starting at 10am. Great Dane has generously offered to put on a display and participate in a 'come & try' session.
It is hoped the festival will generate renewed interest in the town which produced the first team to represent England in European handball competitions.

Bristol Men play their first friendly against Oxford
The newly formed Bristol Handball Club played a friendly match this evening at Oxford. This was their first outing and despite losing 33-26 they were pleased with their performance, particularly having travelled without an experienced goalkeeper. Bristol could be a strong contender for next seasons league.

Stratford School Children try handball
At a recent Olympic day, the children at West Ham Church School sampled a host of sports, including judo, hockey, handball, basketball and Paralympic event goal ball.

Norwegian to coach GB women

Ashford Tanners seek new players
One of Britains oldest clubs is hoping to re-enter the handball league next season after a number of years of being away . Anyone interested in playing should contact Paul Goodwin . During the summer months we will be having beach handball and BBQ's around the Kent Coast and we will be attending the Weymouth beach tournament. Men, Women and youth players of all abilities welcome.
